"Syllabus Agreement" by the end of the first class or turn in by the beginning of the second class. I think it is important that students sign something saying that they have at least read the contents of the syllabus and get their "buy in" to the class. Also, I know that some of our instructors have students take a short quiz on the syllabus (particularly for online courses).
