Instructions for Faculty Content Authors - PC Users

To author content in the Melete Lesson Builder Tool, you may use one of two editors: FCK Editor or Sferyx Editor. FCK Editor is a light weight editor used in most of the tools of the system. It doesn't anything beyond a browser and having javascript enabled. The Sferyx Editor gives you powerful functionality (spell-checking, MathML markup, foreign language support, uploading of images and media, etc.), but in order to run it on the web, you must install a Java plug-in, as the editor is what is called a "Java Applet."

The Sferyx WYSIWYG requires several steps to enable it the first time it is used (more specifically, the first time you add a Content Section to a Learning Module.) Subsequently, the editor will load automatically from memory and be available for use.

1. go to the gateway at bottom of the etudes ng portal - gateway
